First version of a decision support system using biophysical and radiological data was practically tested. Some of its insufficiencies indicate improvement of the methodology of mixture analysis and extension of the data set by biochemical, histological and other medical quantities. The aims: 1.

Edukalibre is a project aimed at the promotion of information and communications technology in education. Its main goal is to explore new ways of producing educational materials, based in the practices and procedures observed in the libre (free, open source) software development community.

The increasing number of applications of mathematical methods in natural and social sciences implies an urgent demand for managemant of vague quantitative inputs, frequently represented by verbal units like "little", "high", "approximately ..", something between ..." and other. An adequate tool for modelling vague data are fuzzy quantities.
Department: ZOI Duration: 2003 - 2005 Grantor: GACR
The most important results: construction of a complete and independent system of similarity moment invariants, creation of combined blur and affine features, development and implementation of a new graph method for generating of affine moment invariants, including methods for elimination of reducible invariants, implementation of a method based on direct solution of Cayley-Aronhold differe

Secondary lymphedema of upper limbs, a frequent complication after breast cancer therapy, can be successfully treated only when it is diagnosed in its early stage. Use of, otherwise well-established, lymphoscintigraphically supported staging is inhibited by a slow lymphatic dynamics of upper limbs, which allows a routine collection at most three images reflecting it.

The project deals with the issue of the interaction between electric field and electrical insulation at long-time exposition to extreme electric and thermal stresses (e.g. in the aircraft manufacture industry or in the case of linear motors driving therods in nuclear reactors).
