Following a longstanding tradition, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, in cooperation with Institutes of Information Theory and Automation and of Mathematics, Czech Academy of Sciences, and Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University organized the Spring School on Variational Analysis VII. The spring school was held in Paseky nad Jizerou, in a chalet in the Krkonoše Mountains from May 19 to May 25, 2019.

Department of Signal processing has successfully presented recent results at the EW 2019 exhibition held in Nuremberg from 26 to 28 February 2019. Work related to ECSEL projects has been demonstrated at the TRENZ Electronics company booth. Detailed information can be found here.

The conference Prague Stochastics 2019 continues a traditional series of international conferences on stochastics organized by the Institute of Information Theory and Automation in Prague since 1956.

The conference will consist of two workshops that will mostly take place in parallel, except for a possible joint afternoon with general audience talks on Wednesday. These workshops are as follows.

Dne 7. ledna 2019 oslavil Ústav teorie informace a automatizce (ÚTIA) Akademie věd ČR šedesát let od svého založení. Oslava se konala v Břevnovském klášteře v Praze. První část programu byla tvořena šesti přednáškami. Každá z nich byla věnována jedné dekádě z historie ÚTIA. Přednášky přednesl vždy jeden z vědeckých pracovníků, kteří v dané dekádě do ÚTIA nastoupili. Po přednáškách následoval slavnostní přípitek, který přednesla předsedkyně Akademie věd ČR, prof. RNDr. Eva Zažímalová, CSc. Oslavy pokračovaly rautem v prostorách kláštera.

Workshop on Stochastics Informatics and Decision Making  - well known as Alšovice according to the traditional venue of many of the first meetings - is an annual workshop organized by members of the department of Stochastic Informatics of the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
